Just a random insight - Counterwallet and Electrum both use 12 word passphrases. The words are selected from the same dictionary. Since any combination of words is a valid passphrase, every Counterwallet passphrase is also an Electrum passphrase, and vice versa.
The similarity stops there. The generated addresses are not the same …
